Working on the Weekends: Productive or Harmful?

Are you working for the weekends or on the weekends?

On average, almost half of workers employed in sales and related occupations (47.5%) work on weekends and holidays in, the largest percentage among major occupational categories. Some people may think logging weekend hours is good for their career, but plenty of research suggests it's bad for their health. A Finnish study found that people who work long hours are 12% more likely to become heavy drinkers. Similar research found an association between overwork and sleeping problems, depression and heart disease. Bringing work into your weekend adds to a prolonged experience of stress, interrupts social plans, results in less time spent with loved ones and creates distance in relationships. The mind needs to decompress and clear!
